Thesis Title: Noncompliance with the United Nation's Child Soldier Treaty: A Case Study on the Democratic Republic of Congo
About
My research focuses on state and non-state noncompliance to a specific UN treaty that explicitly prohibits the recruitment and use of children as soldiers, with a case study on the Democratic Republic of Congo. In order to do so, I highlight this phenomenon in the context of the conflict situation on the ground and through the responses of the international community, specifically the United Nations and the International Criminal Court.
